Information for Toolbar Collection: Lifespace Icons

This document describes the glyphs contained in the Toolbar collection called "Lifespace Icons".  It also explains how to decipher a glyph type from its filename.  For each of the various bitmap types, modes and sizes described below a file suffix is given in parentheses "( )". These refer to the series of letters and numbers at the end of each glyph filename.

The following image sizes are included:

The following bitmap file types are included:

24 Bit Mask Bmp (m):  24-bit bitmap with transparent areas represented by a magenta (RGB 255, 0, 255) mask.

256 Color Gif with transparency (g):  256 color paletted gif with transparency.

32 Bit Alpha png (p):  32-bit png file with 8-bit (256 level) transparency mask.  This is the most common image format used by modern toolbars.


The following modes are included:

Normal (n):  The enabled toolbar button state.

Hot (h):  The "hot" toolbar button state with more saturated color. (e.g. when you move the cursor over the button in later Windows operating systems.)

Disabled (d):  The disabled toolbar button state, indicating the icon is not available
